Entry 229 - Long Week

Kept my eye of the report every day this week and today was the only day that I felt like it was worth it to go out since I've only been able to get in the water around 8:30 or so these days. Surf didn't look that great from the parking lot but after watching it for 15 minutes I just knew I had to get in and give it a go. I was rewarded somewhat with so nice steep fun stuff that I've just started to get the hang of. Here's hoping I can get out tomorrow morning and it won't be too big!

Entry 228 - First Day of Spring

First full day of spring and I started it with a great Porto session. Water was warm and the crowd was friendly. Surf was a little mushy but the waist to chest high sets made up for it. I only wish I could have stayed out longer.

Entry 227 - No Joy

No Pic Today

Got out this morning hoping for the best but wasn't rewarded. Brought the Brog out for some practice and just couldn't get it going. Surf was inconsistent with no shape and walled up where I had paddled out. Should have padded further north.

Entry 226 - Windy and Hot

Breezy and hot. After a long weekend, I got out for an early sunset session. Thought it was going to be nice and glassy or maybe a little bumpy but it turned out to be choppy and dumpy. After catch 2 small ones I got dumped on by a nice head high set and then called it a session.

Entry 225 - Messed Up Stomach

I don't know what I ate last night but my stomach was all messed up. Couldn't keep me from the water though - it just looked too enticing with the weather being 80+ today! El Porto surf competition was on today and so everyone was shifted south a bit - 40th and lower. Caught my fair share of good stuff (lefts and rights) and, in between, tried to breath and get my tummy back into order. Paddled in after a good hour and was glad I got out there.

Entry 224 - Late Afternoon

Stopped at Porto for dawn patrol but it just looked to small. Kept an eye on the cam and was rewarded in mid-afternoon with some fairly larger but bumpy surf. Left work early (been a long week). Only complaint was that I wish it wasn't so bumpy and mushy.

Entry 223 - Dawn Patrol, Finally

Seemed like it had been forever since I got out on a Saturday morning for dawn patrol. I did it right this time and stayed out close to 2 hrs catching whatever small stuff I could in the lake that was El Porto today. Can't complain though. Good crowd and still awesome to be in the water!

Entry 222 - Pre-Lunch Session

Stopped by Porto on the way into work and it just looked flat. Then kept my eye on the camera and headed out for a mid-morning session after a quick meeting. Well worth it. Water was crisp and clear and the sun was shining. The surf... small with long waits. Still fun compared to earlier in the week.

Entry 221 - Bumpy!

Had to get out and just didn't care that it was bumpy and dumpy. Paddling was nutty and only ended up catching one good one to call it a session. Note to self - when it's bumpy, don't bother.
