Entry 235 - Stormy

Been stormy and bumpy all week long at Porto and with the extra low tide, I just couldn't get motivated. Tried to head out yesterday before work but the wind was making it cold too. I thought it was spring! Chose MB Pier today for a change figuring the shape would be a little better and I got lucky. Parking lot was closed though for the annual pier-to-pier walk. Caught 2 nice waves and the rest were just too bumpy and weak. As usual, nice to get in the water!

Entry 214 - Just Didn't Feel It

Not sure if the swell wasn't cooperating, the break wasn't there, or I just wasn't feeling it, but either way, caught nadda today. Lot's of paddling back-and-forth at the MB pier but nothing to show for it in the end. Just felt like I had to get out today since the weekend was gonna be a desert one. Oh, well.

Entry 212 - Agro Surfers

Pre-work surf session again this morning but this time at Manhattan Beach since the Porto cam was showing closeouts and walls. This was the 2nd time I surfed the pier. It was a nice change of pace except for the one guy that got out their and started to talk crap to another surfer. I gather he made a mistake on the inside. Guy read him the riot act. Just kinda ruined the stoke and vibe a little in the lineup. Why can't everyone just enjoy the time in the water!

Entry 193 - Manhattan Beach

Woke up and watched the Porto surf cam for 15-20 min trying to decide if I should head out. It just looked too swampy. About 10 past 7 I bit the bullet and got in the car. By the time I arrived the parking lot was full and the surf looked pretty good. "Oh, well," I said, "let's check out Manhattan Pier." I'd never surfed Manhattan Pier but today was a good day to try. Got there, parked on the south side, put on wetsuit, and paddled out. Yes, pretty swampy! Caught one nice right and a so-so left. I'll be back.
