Entry 250 - Trunks of 2015

After the warm Saturday session, I chanced it and went with trunks for the pre-work session. Yep, right choice. Water was warm and refreshing. Lovin' this summer coming up. The sets... only so, so.

Entry 249 - Wait Long Enough

Yep, if you wait long enough on a slow, knee high, crumbly morning, you might get lucky! And for a few minutes there the surf was nice. Caught up with some guys in the lineup I hadn't seen in a while and enjoyed the warm water. Meter ran out, and I refilled it for another 45 minutes of bliss in the ocean catching small stuff. Fun overall.

Entry 248 - Right Board

No Pic Today

The right board always makes the difference and today I brought the Stewart. Weak, knee high sets with 2' foot tide was perfect for it. Not a lot of rides and mostly time to crouch down and just slowly ride 'em in but it was really nice. Warm water!

Entry 247 - Low Tide (Again)...

No Pic Today

Went with the Brog Egg today and tried to catch something in the low tide, weak, crumbly stuff to little avail. Ended up with one really short ride that was pretty steep and then had to call it a morning to get into work at a reasonable time. Hopefully the weekend is gonna make for some better conditions but judging from the forecast, it looks weak and small. Water was nice and warm though!!

Entry 246 - Walking to the Lineup

You could say it was low tide... I walked out to the lineup. Pretty dangerous so I brought the 8' Egg to help avoid any potential pearling and bending the nose on the Stewart. Not as fun as yesterday but good to be out there with the crew. Sunny day made for a great welcome to summer!

Entry 245 - After Lunch Session

Long freakin' week herding cats and otherwise putting out fires. Extra low morning tide didn't help motivate me to get out for a pre-work session. All added up to stress and having to throw in the towel at 12:30 on Friday and head for a post-lunchtime session. Didn't get food but the ocean was the cure I needed. Bumpy to choppy conditions with small, weak stuff but lots of fun. Glad I got out and communed with nature.

Entry 244 - Small But Fun

Woke up early with my eyes glued to the cams. Really small with the occasional fun stuff mixed in. Decided to wait until mid-tide rolled around and the sun started to show but not much luck. The urge to go paddle out stayed strong and by 9:00 I was itching to get out there. I was rewarded with some small but fun sets and a nice crowd. Wish everyday could be as fun - and a little bigger.

Entry 243 - The Lake

The surf has just sucked over the past week but this morning looked to be the best day to get out. A little surf before work... helps reduce the stress. Lots of small stuff and some dumpy walls but overall it was a lot of fun and definitely reduced my stress. I hope the summer surf season gets better because right now with May and half of June almost over, it's not looking good.

Entry 242 - Low Tide Again

Woke up and it was cloudy. Pull the car out to head to Porto and it was drizzling pretty heavy. Bummer. By the time I got to Porto, the drizzling had gone to a mist. Paddled out to the line up with friends and, in between small stuff, waited and waited for something fun to ride. Still a relatively good session. Just wish there was some bigger stuff and the tide had cooperated for a Saturday.

Entry 241 - Little Stuff

Finally got out after fighting off a freakin' cold I caught last Thursday. Completely ruined my surfing plans. Today was a lot of waiting around for weak stuff that would dump onto the beach because of the really low tide. Not super fast so I could still get the Stewart moving but the rides were short.
