Entry 004 - All Confused

Paddled out and almost hit a dolphin!  Just couldn't find my groove today.  I was either too far forward on the board, sitting in a hole (the waves just disappeared), or I just plain missed 'em.  Maybe I was too far out too!  Who knows.  Chalk it up to an off day, I guess.  I'm beginning to think Porto in late winter is not so much fun for longboarding most of the time.  That said, I've only been able to get out a few times and so it could just be that I'm rusty. ;-)

Weather: 55 deg, Clear Skies

Entry 003 - Bummer

Not really worth it this morning but good to get out.  There's something spiritually cleansing about the ocean.  Didn't catch really anything but saw plenty of dolphin.  Everyone else was having the same troubles I was... it was either too choppy and small or walled off when the sets came in.  Better luck next time.

Entry 002 - Too Soft

Made it out after traveling this week.  Glad to be on the water but the surf was soft with long periods in between.  Paddled into a few but couldn't get the speed.  I wasn't the only one either.  Seemed to be a lot of frustration out there today.  But, those who caught a wave got a nice ride.   I'll try again on Sunday.  Should be much better energy in the waves and a little more height!

Entry 001 - And it begins...

My first entry on this new blog.  Picked up surfing about 3 years ago and been doing it on and off up until July 2012 when I finally decided to take to it and go at least 2 if not 3 days a week.  Making the time... can't be a good dad, husband, and employee without me time!

So...

Nice to finally get out on a Saturday after a few weeks of crazy weather.  Porto was crowded, everybody wanted to surf today.  Only bit it once.  Nice quick surf session then head home to head to a birthday party for one of our daughter's friends.  Good time overall.  Groundhog said springtime is coming early so I'm looking forward to summer!
