Entry 020 - Long Periods

Beautiful morning to surf but the waves just weren't there.  The south swell is totally getting blocked and making for extremely long wait times between sets.  And, when the sets finally got there, they were inconsistent in size.  The ocean was still beautiful though - crystal clear and glassy to textured as the session went on.  The weekend looks pretty flat but a SSW swell seems to be trying to work it's way in early next week!

Entry 019 - Green Sea

Wow, the water was super clear and green today - really beautiful!  The surf, not so much.  It was going on high tide and everything just started to drop off really fast.  I caught a few good ones right when I went out though.  Really enjoyed the water and the waves I caught we semi-long rides.  Planning to head out earlier tomorrow and maybe get closer to mid-tide to see what things are like.

Entry 018 - Dolphins Are Back

Fun day and a good crowd.  Started out foggy but cleared up pretty quick.  The water was great and I probably didn't need my hood - it's starting to be consistently warmer these days.  The only problem today was the waves seemed to swamp out at spots so there were a few long waits.  Even still, I caught a few good ones.  On one I almost sprayed someone on the way in.  The sun is pretty blinding in the morning when you're going right.  It was all good though, he saw me and I bailed to make sure I didn't hit him.  The crowd, as always, was pretty friendly and everyone was glad to be out on their longboards today.  I didn't want to get out - I could have stayed all day!

Entry 017 - Weak

Today was a weak day but I had to get out.  The lines were consistent starting out but with the high tide everything was jumbled toward the beach.  Every once in awhile there was something nice out there to catch.  Maybe tomorrow will be better.  Loving the weather though!!

Entry 016 - Sunny and Fun

Nice to get out on a semi-warm day with a clear sky!  The windy weather the past few days made the water cold but the surf was a-ok.  Fun, rideable, and a little mixed up.  Everyone was having a good time and at one point I was regretting wearing the hood it was so warm.  Gotta get those earplugs!  The weekend is shaping up to look good.  Can't wait to keep this good surf vibe alive.

Entry 015 - Fun Times Two

Fun again today.  Started out a little drizzly but then cleared up to partly cloudy by the time I got out of the water.  Nice a glassy up until around 9 AM when the winds picked up.  Had a good time and caught some nice ones.  I've noticed though that I'm not riding the wave as much and getting off a little too fast in front of the wave when taking off.  Probably need to slow down a bit. On my way in also caught someone riding the nose hanging 5, pretty cool!  Good surf overall and Wednesday is looking pretty good too.  Hopefully I'll get out!

Entry 014 - Thumbs Up

Fun day today.  Not too big and not too small... goldilocks surf.  It was good to get back out finally after all the crazy windy weather and not-so-good surf conditions.  I just wish I could have stayed out longer.  Isn't that always the case though when you have some good surf!  Crowd was fun too. Seemed like everyone was just in a happy mood today.

Entry 013 - Bumpy and Choppy

Not even worth it today.  I should have known since most of the regulars were nowhere to be found. From the parking lot it looked good and I hurried up to get out for a quick session but when I got in and paddled out, the surf turned bumpy and at some points there were even small whitecaps. Tide was going down and the surf was mixed at best. Hard to really catch much on the longboard unless you got lucky.  I wasn't the only one... a few others got out right after I did and called it a day.
